Saffron believes creativity and movement are the best medicine.
Saffron found yoga in 2008, at a time when she was struggling with depression, anxiety and lack of self-esteem. Yoga opened her eyes to the real peace of the present moment, and continues to give her the tools to work through fears, develop healthy relationships with herself and others, and find the courage to express her creativity into the world. The transformation of her own well-being fuels her desire to share the practice with others.
Saffron is a professional aerial silks performer internationally, qualified partner acrobatics teacher, hula hoop artist and functional movement and anatomy nerd.
Saffron is the Creative Director and Co-Founder of CircAsana and is passionate about blending the art of introspection with expression. She loves combining creative play-filled movement, anatomical alignment and strength intelligence with the body-mind magic of yoga to unleash the YOUnicorn within.

Previously a banking lawyer in Australia and Japan, Amy left her corporate career to run away with the circus and do more yoga. She performed adagio acrobatics in Australia, studied circus in China, street performed in Serbia and traveled with clowns in Mexico.
Amy settled in beautiful Nicaragua, where she managed the surf yoga retreat center Magnific Rock, and co-founded the global circus and yoga retreats company: CircAsana. Amy is passionate about combining circus, yoga and travel to connect and empower individuals and communities worldwide.
Today, Amy is a hand-standing, aerial-yogi acrobat, who spends her time researching and experimenting with using circus and yoga to empower individuals and communities. Bailey Hutzler fell in love with the arts at a young age, engrossing herself in dance, gymnastics, and cheerleading/acro.
She’s also been training in the theater arts since she was 9 years old, gaining valuable skills like stage presence, set design and creation through her school’s talented program. This led her to train actors and create attractions at the now nationally-revered RISE Haunted House in Louisiana.
After graduating high school and starting her physics degree at LSU, she was looking for an outlet to express her inner creative. Luckily, she found her new home with LSU’s circus arts program where she focused on aerial fabrics, instruction and act creation.
Fast forward 4 1/2 years, a Bachelor’s degree and circus arts minor later and she is now taking the Austin performance scene by storm! Her newest goal: being a role model for girls to pursue the arts and the sciences without stigma.
Where did I learn handstands? - Hard to say. Through sports such as ballet, children's gymnastics, vaulting and cheerleading, which accompanied me through my childhood and youth, body tension and balance in various orientations (including upside down 😛 ) have long been part of my movement repertoire.
During my sports studies in Munich, I accidentally found handstand stilts/canes, whereupon I was asked if I could do a small show with them at a university event. This started my first slightly more focused training phase in the handstand area, so that I was able to show a reasonably respectable program.
In 2018 I met other hand balancers at the Original Muscle Beach in Los Angeles and got to know numerous new variations and technical aspects. In addition, I learned to "play" with the handstand, to become creative myself, to create different ascents and balance challenges.
Since then, the fascination and joy of handstand training has not let go of me and I have rather enjoyed sharing my knowledge and experience and motivating others to do handstands and accompanying them along the way 🙂

This retreat was an unexpected, transformative experience for me. I’m a creative person, and a lot of the things that were represented to me as part of this creative process, were things that I think I might have lost as a child. Ways in which to make new things, express myself as an artist, that I have left behind for one reason or another, and I was able to connect with those things, and I just fell in love with the place and the people.
All the new connections I’ve made; all the experiences doing acro and yoga and other things with people I’ve never met before; all the good thoughts it has generated; all the positive emotions; and all the things I’ve learnt about myself along the way: how I deal with the world, with people, with myself, with my body. Those are invaluable lessons that will remain with me for the rest of my life.
I feel like both Saffron and Amy have infectious personalities that make you feel loved and warm, and make you want to try new things, and give you the confidence to try things you never thought your body could do, but with their instruction I felt like I could let go and put my body into amazing different positions, and just be silly – I think that was what a lot of it was about – just being silly.
Thank you guys – had an amazing time! It you haven’t done one of these retreats, get down to it. I learned everything: acroyoga was amazing, learnt some new techniques when it came to inversions – all your pointers and techniques really nailed it in for me - and then just learning to connect with good people.
I liked all of the acro aspects. I come from a cross-fit background, so I have the strength part but not necessarily the flexibility. I really liked the Hoopasana – I thought that was a lot of fun - hula hooping isn’t something you typically do at this age, so that was really fun. I’ll buy a hoop when I get home.
A super adventurous, colorful, very outdoor, energetic retreat. My intention to come to the retreat was connect to myself and my inner power, and I learnt so many things – my strengths, about pushing myself a little more, but not to take it so seriously. I got to really push myself, without competing or comparing myself to others.
